Hi Everybody!
The summer is finally here, and we’re now starting to feel the heat ☀️😥!
I don’t know about you, but our family every year has the same feeling: summer comes and goes and we happily say farewell as we just cannot bear the heat anymore - the hot nights, fans, air-conditioning, not being able to go for a walk unless it is at 5am or gone midnight, sweating just carrying a shopping bag etc. We welcome autumn & winter with open arms! Temperatures start to drop again, rain comes ... we just winge about the wind, the rain, the cold marble floors, single glazed windows which seem to be quite common in Spanish town houses, and yearn for warmer days again (forgetting all of the above)! We then repeat the cycle again!! Actually, I exaggerate a bit, we do have some perfect months with perfect days…
Sooo, our girls are now officially on school holidays – yeah…and fully booked in with various summer camp activities 🏄♀️🤸♀️They´re happy with that, as we are, so we can now work without the worry!
Oh, an interesting thing I must tell you. As you know, we have a new team member called Sophie. Her main passions are Mathematics (I know, weird lol) and running. But did you know that Sophie is actually a really good runner 🏃♀️and arrived 8th in the last Campeonato de Andalucia Absoluto in the 200m sprint with an impressive time of 26.28 … I mean, easy right? (or not)! So well done Sophie – no excuse for late table service!
Let´s get back to Nomad now. As mentioned in my newsletter, I am re designing/upgrading our menus. Why, would you ask? Well, mainly because ours are shamefully tired looking now, and also because it is a good opportunity to review things and add some exciting new dishes. We will be introducing a new vegan breakfast, veggie burrito, and some fantastic toastie brunch options (you´ll be pleased to know that our Avoholic & Huevos locos won´t be on their own anymore!), new drinks and much much more! I really can´t wait for you to see it 😁!
Ohhh … more exciting news, Café Nomad is introducing a uniform, Yes! You will soon discover our team sporting a new range of team Nomad t-shirts to complement our colourful food!
SPOILER ALERT – This month, I will organise a little competition for you to enjoy – I love a little competition – Should we call it “🎊Nomad´s got talent 🎊”? It is going to be a photography contest where the winner will receive a fabulous €25.00 voucher to spend in Café Nomad … woo woo. To win this prize, all you have to do is take a photo (artistic or not, you decide!) of either, our food, drinks, deco, or the café itself, then tag me on Facebook or Instagram. Our team will be the judges and we will declare the winner on the 31st of July! ¡Hola a todos!
¡El verano finalmente está aquí y se siente la calor! ☀️😥
No sé ustedes, pero para nuestra familia cada año es el mismo sentimiento: el verano se va y nos despedimos felices porque ya no podemos soportar el calor, ni las noches calurosas, los ventiladores, el aire acondicionado, no poder salga a caminar a menos que sean las 5 de la mañana o al menos la medianoche y sudando solo con 2 bolsas de compras, etc. Damos la bienvenida al otoño e invierno con los brazos abiertos. Poco a poco las temperaturas comienzan a bajar, llega la lluvia ... Simplemente nos alegramos por el viento, la lluvia, ¡el frío del mármol en el piso y deseando que pudiera pasar al verano (olvidando todas las anteriores)! ¡¡Y luego repetimos el ciclo de nuevo!! En realidad, exagero un poco, tenemos algunos meses perfectos con días perfectos ...
Ahora, nuestras chicas están oficialmente de vacaciones con varios campamentos de verano ⛹️♀️. Ellas son muy felices, nosotros también, para que podamos trabajar sin preocuparnos por lo que han estado haciendo.
Oh, algo interesante debo decirles. Como saben, tenemos un nuevo miembro llamada Sophie. Las principales pasiones de Sophie son las matemáticas (lo sé raro jajaja) y correr. Pero, ¿sabías que Sophie es realmente una muy buena corredora 🏃♀️ y llegó octava en el último Campeonato de Andalucía Absoluto en el 200 m con un tiempo impresionante de 26.28… quiero decir fácil verdad (o no) 🏋️♀! Muy bien hecho Sophie, ¡ahora no tienes excusas para servir nuestros clientes tarde!
Volvamos a Nomad ahora. Como mencioné en mi boletín, estoy rediseñando / actualizando nuestros menús. ¿Por qué lo preguntas? Bueno principalmente porque los nuestros están vergonzosamente cansados y también porque es una buena oportunidad para revisar cosas y agregar algunas novedades interesantes. Hay un nuevo desayuno vegano, wraps, y también nuevas tostadas (¡te complacerá saber que el Avoholic y Huevos locos ya no estarán solos!), nuevas bebidas y mucho más. ¡Realmente no puedo esperar a que lo veáis!
Ohhh… otra noticia emocionante, Café Nomad recibirá su uniforme, ¡Sí! ¡Pronto descubrirán nuestra nueva gama de camisetas para complementar nuestra colorida comida!
