Another month. Actually I am looking forward to March as we have a lot to celebrate : our middle daughter's birthday as well as Emi’s, Sophie’s and Debbie’s! So a big big happy birthday to all of you lovely ladies 🥳
Now Nomad 💕. Where to start?!
We have 2 new recruits : Evelina & Emelyn.
Evelina is from Romania. She has a lot of experience in the catering & hospitality industry which is clear by the way she is with the customers. Very friendly & caring. On the other hand, she loooves to talk, so be aware ⚠️ ! Haha.
Emelyn is from the Philippines. From the first moment of her working with us - me and the girls asked ourselves how on earth we have coped without her. From washing the pots, prepping the kitchen, giving a helping hand when needed, nothing is too small. Actually, we´ve made a joke amongst ourselves wondering if we will all be out of a job soon, given she´s so quick and efficient💨 ! Maybe a one man show to come in Nomad! Anyway, meanwhile our Cafe Nomad family is complete and ready to welcome our lovely customers.
A lot of you have been asking me how the restyling/restructuring of the café is going… mmm… sorry it makes me laugh when I write these words. By the way, who wanted to start? (haha oups that was me!). The main drawing of the kitchen 👩🏻🍳 has been more or less amended. Now going through : the bar area, storage (yes we want to make sure every single corner is usable), decoration, materials, colour scheme, etc. So we still have a lot to do 🤔 ! In any case, it is pretty clear now that we are not going to be able to do the work until the end of the year but actually it is possibly for the best!
In addition to the running of the café, March is also a very busy month for us. We call it “Chopping March”. Why would you ask? Mainly because we need to peel, cut and bag more or less 50 kilos of fresh : mangos 🥭 , bananas 🍌 , pineapple 🍍 & strawberries 🍓 and also to prepare all our smoothies too. Sooo, if you see us (more likely Steve) at the back of the café, make sure you stop by and give us (him) a little cheer & tap on the back 👋 !!
Now, baking 🧁 . I am pleased to say that we are working on a couple of new recipes 🧐 to add to our 4 delicious cakes - gluten free of course! I will announce them when finalised! Yeah, this is definitely something to be excited about!
Finally, Just Eat 🚚 . Ok, we have gently started a delivery service but we haven't gone all out as we didn't know if; 1- we were totally prepared for it, and 2- if there would be any demand. So in Feb, we switched on the machine and did it quietly. The results so far have been a steady flow of orders which we have managed well. To be continued ...
Oh before I go, I wanted to take the opportunity to apologise 😣 to some of you who have contacted me with requests, questions. Sadly I don't have enough hours in the day, please be patient with me and I will get back to you as soon as I can!

Otro mes. De hecho, estoy deseando que llegue marzo, ya que tenemos mucho que celebrar: ¡el cumpleaños de nuestra hija mediana, así como el de Emi, Sophie y Debbie! Entonces, un gran feliz cumpleaños a todas woohoo 🥳
Ahora Nomad 💕. ¡¿Dónde empezar?!
Tenemos 2 nuevas chicas: Evelina y Emelyn.
Evelina es de Rumania. Tiene mucha experiencia en la industria de la restauración y la hostelería, lo que queda claro por su forma de tratar a los clientes. Muy amable y trabajadora. Por otro lado, le encanta hablar, ¡así que ten cuidado ⚠️! Ja ja ja 😜
Emelyn es de Filipinas. Desde el primer momento en que ella trabajó con nosotros, las chicas y yo nos preguntamos cómo nos las habíamos arreglado sin ella. Desde lavarlos platos, preparar la cocina, dar una mano cuando sea necesario, nada es demasiado pequeño. De hecho, hemos hecho una broma entre nosotros preguntándonos si todos nos quedaremos sin trabajo pronto, ¡dado que ella es tan rápida y eficiente 💨!
Por fin nuestra familia Cafe Nomad está completa y lista para recibir a nuestros encantadores clientes 😉.
Muchos de ustedes me han estado preguntando cómo va el restyling/reestructuración del café… mmm… lo siento, me hace reír cuando escribo estas palabras. Por cierto, ¿quién quería empezar? (ja ja ja ups ese era yo!). El dibujo principal de la cocina 👩🏻🍳 ha sido más o menos modificado. Ahora hacemos: el área del bar, el almacenamiento (sí, queremos asegurarnos de que todos los rincones sean utilizables), la decoración, los materiales, la combinación de colores, etc. ¡Así que todavía tenemos mucho trabajo 🤔! En cualquier caso, ahora está bastante claro que no podremos hacer el trabajo hasta fin de año, ¡pero en realidad es posiblemente lo mejor!
Además del funcionamiento del café, marzo también es un mes muy ocupado para nosotros. Lo llamamos “Marcha de Chopping”. ¿Por qué preguntaríais? Principalmente porque necesitamos pelar, cortar y embolsar más o menos 50 kilos de frutas frescos: mangos 🥭, plátanos 🍌, piñas 🍍 y fresas 🍓 y también para preparar todos nuestros smoothies. Entonces, si nos veis (más probablemente a Steve) en la parte trasera del café, asegúrate de pasar y darnos (él) un poco de ánimo y tocar la espalda 👋!!
Ahora, horneando 🧁 . Me complace decir que estamos trabajando en un par de recetas nuevas 🧐 para agregar a nuestros 4 deliciosos pasteles, ¡sin gluten, por supuesto! ¡Los anunciaré cuando estén finalizados! Sí, ¡esto es definitivamente algo por lo que estar emocionado!
Finalmente, sobre Just Eat. Ok, hemos comenzado suavemente un servicio de entrega, pero no hemos hecho todo lo posible porque no sabíamos si; 1- estábamos totalmente preparados, y 2- si hubiera alguna demanda. Entonces, en febrero, encendimos la máquina y lo hicimos en silencio. Los resultados hasta ahora han sido un flujo constante de pedidos que hemos gestionado bien. To be continued...
Oh, antes de irme, quería aprovechar la oportunidad para disculparme 😣 con algunos de ustedes que me han contactado con solicitudes, preguntas. Lamentablemente, no tengo suficientes horas en el día, tenga paciencia conmigo y le responderé tan pronto como pueda.
