Hello everybody! ¡Hola a todos!
What a month it has been! So much has happened at Nomad in July! ☀️
Firstly, we have a new staff member called Astrid who helps Raquel in the kitchen in time of need. It took us a while to find her, but it was well worth the wait! Very quick to learn and very eager to do well 💪 – we have found a perfect gem. An extra pair of hands means quicker service during busier times – anything to improve customers waiting time as we are well aware that this is our greatest challenge – especially when we only work with fresh products!
Our first ever ‘Nomad´s Got Talent’ was a great success! We wanted to thank you all ever so much for participating. Choosing a winner 🥇proved to be a liiiittle bit more difficult than we expected – with just under 100 pictures to choose from and with 6 judges, let me tell you, we had some great battles! A huge congratulations to @tatoome21.es for the lovely photo! Johan came last weekend and enjoyed his winning voucher!
It was so much fun that we´ve decided to do another competition this month but with a slight system change. As some of you may be aware, we encountered a problem with Instagram privacy settings which I didn't know existed (I am learning every day by doing my own social media)!
So, this time it’s simple. To participate create a post on your page with the hashtag #cafenomadcompetition2021 and publish your post (please be aware - hashtaging in stories does not work as they disappear after 24hrs!). The winner will be selected on the 30th of September and will win a fantastic €25 voucher 🎊🎉.
This month it can be aaaaanything : Photos, videos or even reels - let´s get creative!!

We have a new promotion this month for all our lovely loyalty card holders - as we are all melting away 🥵 with the sun or heat; we are in desperate need of vitamins and a super source of refreshment and goodness. So, for this month we are offering a 2 for 1 on all our homemade smoothies 🥤. If you don't have your loyalty card by now, it is definitely worth registering! Either online (fill in the form) or pop in the café.
Talking about refreshing drinks, we will also be making blue lemonade this month. I have found a super cute and delicious recipe. If you'd like, I can share this with you.
Good news, I have neeearly finished our new and improved menus. I would have liked to have had them in circulation for August, but it has simply not been possible: working 7 days a week, food shopping, kids activities, family life and everything else, I am running a little behind. In the meantime, to make you wait patiently, I will post some little teasers of what is to come. It’s super exciting!
Finally, I would like to share with you some great news and a very proud moment for our family. Our middle daughter Anabelle who is 11 successfully represented her club in the annual Andalusian swimming championships 🏊♀️ in Sevilla late June with her swimming club mates. She was buzzing and came home with 2 silver and 1 bronze medal in backstroke and front crawl.
Along with 4 of her friends , they were selected to represent the region at the national Spanish championships in Tarragona in July - a great achievement for the club! To be selected for this you have to rank in the top 15 from any club in the whole Spain in your respective swims - we were as surprised as you, because for nearly 2 years we have been unable to watch her and our other 2 daughters swim due to covid etc, so when the trainer told us she was good, it was difficult to understand or comprehend just how good.
After a 4 day trip and return flights to Barcelona with her team and trainer, along with pure determination and certainly adrenaline, Anabelle came back home with 2 massive national medals: Silver in 100m 🥉backstroke, Bronze 🥉in 200m backstroke & finishing 4th in 400m front crawl - all reported in the local newspaper! A little star might be born, who knows – after this, she now wants to reach for the stars ⭐️and go to the Olympics. I´d say why not 🧜♀️?!

¡Qué mes ha sido! ¡Han pasado tantas cosas en Nomad en julio!
En primer lugar, tenemos una nueva trabajadora que se llama Astrid y ayuda a Raquel en la cocina en momentos de necesidad. Nos tomó un tiempo encontrarla, ¡pero valió la pena la espera! Muy rápido aprendiendo y con muchas ganas de hacerlo bien 💪, hemos encontrado una joya perfecta. Un par de manos adicionales significa un servicio más rápido porque somos conscientes de que este es nuestro mayor desafío, ¡especialmente cuando solo trabajamos con productos frescos!
¡Nuestro primer "Nomad´s Got Talent" fue un gran éxito! Queríamos agradecerles a todos por participar. Elegir un ganador resultó ser un poquito más difícil de lo que esperábamos, con poco menos de 100 imágenes para elegir y con 6 jueces, déjame decirte que ¡tuvimos grandes batallas! ¡Enhorabuena a @ tatoome21.es por la hermosa foto! ¡Johan vino el fin de semana y disfrutó de su cupón ganador!
Para este mes, hemos decidido repetir la competición (¡fue muy divertido para nosotros!) Pero con un ligero cambio en el sistema. Como algunos de ustedes sabrán, encontramos un problema con la privacidad de Instagram que no sabía que existía (¡estoy aprendiendo todos los días haciendo mis propias redes sociales)!

También, tenemos una nueva promoción este mes para todos nuestros titulares de tarjetas de fidelidad, ya que todos nos estamos derritiendo con el sol o el calor 🥵; Necesitamos desesperadamente vitaminas y una gran fuente de refresco y bondad. Entonces, para este mes estamos ofreciendo un 2 por 1 en todos nuestros smoothies caseros. Si aún no tiene su tarjeta de fidelidad, ¡definitivamente vale la pena registrarse! Ya sea online (complete el formulario) o físicamente en la cafetería.
Hablando de bebidas refrescantes, también haremos limonada azul este mes. He encontrado una receta súper linda y deliciosa. Si lo desea, puedo compartir esto con usted.
Buenas noticias, casi he terminado nuestros menús nuevos. Me hubiera gustado tenerlos en circulación para agosto, pero simplemente no ha sido posible: trabajando 7 días a la semana, actividades para niños, vida familiar y todo lo demás, me estoy quedando un poco atrás. Mientras tanto, para hacerte esperar pacientemente, publicaré algunos pequeños avances de lo que está por venir. ¡Es muy emocionante!
Finalmente, me gustaría compartir con ustedes una gran noticia y un momento de gran orgullo para nuestra familia. Nuestra hija mediana, Anabelle, que tiene 11 años, representó con éxito a su club en el campeonato anual de natación 🏊♀️ de Andalucía en Sevilla a finales de junio con sus compañeros de club de natación. Estaba animada y llegó a casa con 2 medallas de plata 🥉 y 1 de bronce en estilo espalda y crol.
Junto con 4 de sus amigos, fueron seleccionados para representar a la región en el campeonato nacional de España en Tarragona en julio, ¡un gran logro para el club! Para ser seleccionado para esto, debes estar entre los 15 primeros de cualquier club de toda España en sus respectivas pruebas; nos sorprendió tanto como tú, porque durante casi 2 años no hemos podido verla nadar a ella y a nuestras otras 2 hijas. debido a covid, etc., así que cuando la entrenadora nos dijo que era buena, fue difícil entender o comprender qué tan buena era.
Después de un viaje de 4 días y vuelos de regreso a Barcelona con su equipo y su entrenador, junto con pura determinación y ciertamente adrenalina, Anabelle regresó a casa con 2 medallas nacionales masivas: Plata en 100m espalda, Bronce 🥉en 200 m espalda y terminar cuarta en 400m estilo crol. - ¡Todo reportado en el periódico local! Puede que nazca una pequeña estrella, quién sabe; después de esto, ahora quiere alcanzar las estrellas ⭐️e ir a los Juegos Olímpicos. Yo diría ¡¿Por qué no 🧜♀️ ?!
