Juggling

Hi everybody!

A little catch up since my last blog in January. Time just flies by doesn’t it?

I don’t know about you but I have really found these past few weeks quite challenging with the Café, my 3 girls, school homework and homelife. I mean, it is my fault really as I keep on creating new things for the café, and realising half way through that it is going to take a lot more time than I initially thought. Even Natasha (my mentor) keeps on asking me “cricky Geraldine, what have you done now?!”. Haha. But I do love what I do, so hey in my head, things always have a way of working themselves out, wouldn’t you agree??

So, let me tell you some exciting news happening in Nomad at the moment. We have a new member, her name is Sophie. For the last couple of weeks we have thrown her at the deep end, and as a true trooper she has worked really hard and fit nicely in our team! It is always nice to invest time to train somebody who just wants to learn and work.

Also, this week we have launched 10 new bruschettas. Why 10 you would ask? Well, we just wanted to inject something different and exciting as we know you all love our Avoholic and Huevos Locos. So here they are, every Tuesday and Thursday, and as true to Nomad all freshly prepared with quality ingredients.

Furthermore, this month we are launching our loyalty cards. Yes, you hear it right! This is our way to thank all of you. With this card, you will receive some rewards, exciting news and a special surprise on your birthday! Talking about birthdays, we have organised quite a few this month as well 4 baby shower gatherings. We offer 2 different freshly prepared buffets to choose from depending on your budget, so you can spend more time taking in the sea view with your friends and family.

With all this happening, of course family balance can take a little bit of a tumble. My main fails are my forgetfulness as I try to do too many tasks at the same time. I am not proud of them but let me tell you my total “fails” this month because they are hilarious (but at the time they weren’t haha): I forgot my roast pork not once but twice in the oven – resulting at 2 burnt roasts, I left 4 boiled eggs on the hob, resulting in my eggs exploding all over my kitchen (you should have seen the look on my husband and kids faces… priceless! oh by the way, I am supposed to be a fully trained chef, I forgot my youngest daughters maths exam (she went in without revising and still managed a 7/10 … a miracle) and realised my 2 young ones haven’t had a shower for nearly a week! BUT I have sorted these issues: I have realised that my husband is a really good secretary, I simply tell him everything and he works his magic reminding me when I need to know! For the kids, I have prepared a weekly planner which dominates out lounge wall. So a win win for everybody!

Anyway, that´s it from me. I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading, and if you would like to comment or share your recent mishaps, please feel free as we are all human.
